It's been five long years since we've been gifted a new album from New York's Scissor Sisters, but that's all about to change as they ready album number three for release.
The band announced plans to write their new album in 2007, however it wasn't until August 2009 that they returned to the studio with producer Stuart Price (The Killers, Gwen Stefani, Madonna).
The currently untitled album will be the band's first release since the world dominating 'Ta-Dah' in 2005, and is rumoured to include the tracks 'Hollywood Wives', 'Permanent Wave', 'Skin This Cat' and 'Invisible Light'.
Today the album appeared one step closer, with rumoured collaborator Kylie Minogue tweeting:
"Whoo!Your new album is a*m*a*z*i*n*g can't wait to listen to it..over..&..over..&..over :)"
The band will also perform shows this month in New York and at the SXSW music festival in Texas. These will be the band's first gigs since 2008 (we think, anyway) when they performed a string of secret shows under pseodonyms including 'Queef Latina' and 'Debbie's Hairy'.
