The true original practitioners of trip-hop, Massive Attack are still one of the most original acts in the world – and we’re proud to bring the best of their work to Australian Radio on Koffee.
Bringing together Hip Hop, Rock and Jazz – they were pioneers in the so-called ‘Bristol sound’ of music in the early 90’s.
Massive Attack – Robert Del Naja (3D), Grantley Marshall (Daddy G) and Andrew Vowles (Mushroom) – were originally part of ‘The Wild Bunch’. Their first single ‘Any Love’ in 1988 had little impact, but the release of their first full album 3 years later ‘Blue Lines’ brought them instant success.
Their two biggest commercial hits were 1991’s ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ (reached No 13 on the UK charts), and 1998’s ‘Teardrop’ (which was Top 20 in Australia). They later worked a lot more electronica into their 2003 album release – ‘100th Window’.
It’s believed Massive Attack will release their 5th Album sometime this year, and are scheduled to headline a festival on the Isle of Wight.
The unique sound of Massive Attack has an important place to help you chill with Koffee.
